How Mom Snacks Was Born - Meet Maggie
I became a mom for the second time at 44.
And even though it wasn’t my first rodeo, nothing prepared me for what came next.
After years of trying, miscarriages, IVF, and finally a successful pregnancy, my son Sebastian was born via C-section. What should have been a moment of relief and celebration quickly turned into one of the most physically and emotionally difficult experiences of my life.
There were complications. A postpartum hemorrhage that went undiagnosed. Severe anemia. Weeks of bleeding. Exhaustion that went far beyond “new mom tired.” And a deep sense that something was wrong — even when I was repeatedly told I was “fine.”
At the same time, Sebastian spent his first days in the NICU, and I was trying to show up for my toddler at home with almost nothing left in my tank.
I was surviving. Barely.
The Part No One Warns You About
What I didn’t realize at the time was that what I was experiencing wasn’t rare — it was common.
So many moms leave the hospital depleted, undernourished, and unsupported. And once the immediate postpartum window closes, the support often disappears altogether. You’re expected to bounce back, power through, and keep going.
I did what many moms do. I relied on caffeine, convenience foods, and willpower. But my body was still in recovery mode — and no one was talking about how long that recovery actually takes.
Months later, as I slowly began to feel more like myself again, I noticed something that changed everything.
The Moment It Clicked
One morning, sitting with a group of moms, the same questions kept coming up:
Why am I so tired?
Why do I feel foggy?
What should I even be eating?
These weren’t just new moms. They were moms at every stage — working moms, stay-at-home moms, moms years past postpartum.
That’s when it hit me: this isn’t an individual problem. It’s a systemic one.
Moms are one of the most nutritionally depleted groups — and yet the food industry barely acknowledges us. The snack aisle is full of options for kids, athletes, and trends of the moment, but almost nothing designed for moms who are juggling everything.
From Frustration to Idea
Mom Snacks didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a realization.
We don’t need more advice telling us to “do better.”
We need nourishment that actually fits into real life.
I wanted snacks that:
• Supported energy, focus, and gut health
• Felt satisfying, not like an afterthought
• Didn’t require another decision or routine
• Spoke to moms honestly — with a little humor and a lot of empathy
That’s how Mom Snacks came to life.

Why This Matters
Moms do so much. We carry the mental load. We hold families together. And yet, when it comes to our own well-being, we’re often expected to figure it out on our own.
Mom Snacks is my way of saying: you deserve better.

Better support.
Better conversations.
And this is just the beginning.
